Thanks so much.

The scene and the dialogue between the dad and son really got us thinking how we should bring up our kids. We sometimes push our kids too hard to do what we think it's good to them. I won't blame those parents who are doing so. But I just question if the way is right/working or not. It could be done in a way that is more flexible and be tailored-made to match with our kids' personality and interests.

Thanks for your comments. Love you to come back and share again.

Have a nice weekend.Christine Hohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04317873875051095114noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-515107162543916141.post-58925803450857405142010-01-23T10:40:53.757+10:002010-01-23T10:40:53.757+10:00Hi Christine

The show is about a young man going back time to the "50's Hong Kong" meeting his Dad, his family and friends by an accident. The young man does not have a good relationship with his Dad as his Dad is always nice and give a lot to his friends. He finds out at the end that he is adopted and realises that his Dad is an unselfish man when he comes back to the "real time". It has changed how he respects his Dad and making sees things differently. At the end, his Granddad passes away and leave his Dad the pair of golden bangle as a wedding gift for his Dad. The young man's Dad is also adopted but he has been very kind to his Dad even though he knows it at the start. The young man's Dad doesn't marry because he has been waiting for his girlfriend who has gone overseas and concentrate on bringing up the young man.

At the scene, the old man is very sad as his Dad has just passed away. He remembers that his Dad likes to eat chicken bum so he gives it to his son. I think that means he is trying to give the best to his son. (there is only one bum in a chick) However, both of them don't like chick's bum.

As a parent, we always try to give what we think is the best for our children. For example, we might push our kids to swimming lesson but we don't even know how to swim. In fact, the kids just prefer to have fun playing backyard badminton with the parents. That leave us a question "are we giving the best to our kids?"

I've just started the habit of browsing the food blog and really like your blog as I cook everyday for my family, too. Keep the good work and share food and thought with us unselfishly.

Cheers

VeronicaVeronicanoreply@blogger.com
